For a couple of weeks my Instagram feed was filled with palm trees and beaches instead of mist and mountains.
So for Instagram Travel Thursday, I’m sharing my IG images from Mauritius!
Sigh. So beautiful!
We stayed at Long Beach Hotel with First Choice Holidays, and maybe my favourite thing about the resort, besides the location, was the creatively designed beach loungers tucked all around the pool and the beach.
We made good use of the happily situated sun beds.
Blue skies dominated our horizons most days!
We broke away from our resort to tour the beautiful island of Mauritius.
And we also spent a day out on the Indian Ocean in a catamaran.
Our resort had a sea spa and these loungers overlooking a lake served as the relaxation zone for the spa.
Our kids never tired of the main swimming pool and on our last day the pool was all decorated for a pre-wedding pool party.
The most magical times at the beach are always the sunset and sunrise hours. We tried to be down on the beach every night to see the sky painted pink.
Three nights a week at Long Beach, there is a sunset yoga class for guests. LOVE!
Happy Sunrise from Mauritius!
Simon and I were sent to Mauritius, along with Sally and Flea, as part of our role this year as First Choice Out of Office Bloggers. First Choice has chosen five bloggers to visit their resorts in 2014 and blog about them. I’m feeling super thankful for the privilege and already looking forward to my next trip Out of Office!
Stay tuned for more photos and stories from our time in Mauritius!

I was sooo trying not to be jealous as I viewed your photos, but then I got to the “sunset yoga class” and the green-eyed monster bit me! I’m totally sharing this with my yoga instructor. 🙂
Also, I guess I’m getting used to your living in Scotland because the first time I read through I missed the fact that you used the British spelling of “favourite.”
So glad you had a great time in Mauritius. Looking forward to your next adventure!
Definitely the beach yoga was super special!! I’m going to write just about it soon!
One of my bucket list places… especially now that you’ve shared the unreal sunset pics!
Isn’t it crazy how the sunset is amazing pretty much anywhere there is water + sand? I love how captivated we are with it and how it can stop us in our tracks!
Amazing pictures. Mauritius looks as amazing as what I thought it would be! I love especially those sunset shots…
YES! It is amazing. Thanks much. The sunset are gorgeous. 🙂
Wow, wow, wow! Such gorgeously captured moments, I love it!
So much fun Sally! Let’s go back real soon.
YES! So absolutely gorgeous.
Mauritius… I can’t think of a better word than “heavenly”! And I can’t wait for your next “Out of office” adventure! 🙂
Me neither! I’m already super excited and I don’t know where I’m going. 🙂
WOW!! I am so envious! Forgive me Lord!
LOVE LOVE Kaye! I think heaven just might be a bit like Mauritius! 🙂
Soooo dreamy! Wish you could have come with me!! Let’s meet on a dreamy beach soon, m’k?
the world is lovely–including the internet. somehow i landed on your blog while trying to find camping menu ideas for the 4th. I never found what I was looking for but I did find a gal living in Scotland (where I am originally from) who visited Mauritius (?) which happens to be a place that my international flight attendant friend had never heard of when she was bidding on the Price is Right and overbid during the Showcase Showdown. In case you needed a USA jolt, there you go. You look like you are having a fabulously brilliant time.
Skye, I love those “coincidences” about Scotland and Mauritius. That’s a great story about the Price is Right! But I’m surprised you didn’t find what you were looking for when you got here. Alison is full of A) camping adventures and B) fabulous recipes, whether for camping, family holidays or fundraisers. Keep looking!
How fun! I do love blogging and the internet for these kinds of wonderful stories!! Thanks for reading along!
I have a few camping menus. They can all be found here: http://www.alisonchino.com/tag/camping-menus/ It’s about time for a new one though! 🙂
