I could go back to Amsterdam just for these canal views.
It took me about ten seconds to be smitten with Amsterdam’s water ways.
I just had no idea.
I think every time I saw a photo of Amsterdam, I thought I was seeing the same view.
I didn’t realize that you can walk (or bike) around the city for ages and still not have seen them all.
Around every corner is another bridge to discover.
In the afternoons, when we were tired from walking or sightseeing, we loved choosing a sidewalk cafe along a canal.
We would stop for a drink or a treat, and then we’d sit and watch the people and the boats.

Amsterdam is a direct flight from Aberdeen, so I’m already scheming about my return.

Beautiful photos! I went to Amsterdam only briefly and it ended up as a wash for a variety or reasons. Seems like I just keeping hearing about this city lately. Both in several blogs I watch and several family members visiting again recently. I’m taking all the talk about Amsterdam as a sign that I need to go back for a ‘redo’.
I did not expect to love it as much as I did. I was really delightfully surprised. There’s WAY more to Amsterdam than red lights + weed. 🙂
