In The Pipeline

crazy dread photo, dread head, girl with dreads, in the pipeline

Welcome to the sometimes weekly (more like monthly) edition of In The Pipeline, where I list stuff I like on the internet and tell you what’s coming down the pipe at the Chino House.

I did my first ever Google Hangout this week with Jenna at Webjet. (Yay for figuring out how to do new things on the internet!)  We talked about Off Season Travel.  I really enjoyed doing this and hope to do more soon!  Maybe our next one will be about moving abroad!

Speaking of which, I have been getting all packed up this week and moving out of our house.  We’ve also been fingerprinted for our visas and we almost bought our tickets to Scotland, but we’re giving our visas a few more days to arrive.

It’s super exciting, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that we’ve been up and down emotionally.  Translation: Pretty much everything makes me cry.

Like everything.

My sweet friends helping me pack.  People calling/texting to ask how they can pray.  My mama making dinner every night and letting the kids sleep over.  Seeing pictures on Instagram of my big kids on a mission trip.  Counting down how many Sundays I have left with our precious faith community.

This Sunday will be my husband’s last time to preach, and we’re having a farewell service that evening.  I can’t even think about it without crying.  If you’re in the area, consider yourself invited.  But maybe bring some Kleenex.  For me.

Then, if you need to laugh, you could head over to The Dramatic and read the guest post I wrote about growing up camping with the quintessential Mountain Man, AKA my father.

Also Sarabeth posted about a camping trip we went on with our babies about one million years ago in 2005.  (More tears.)

A few other things I’ve loved from around the internet:

This one’s for all the single ladies: Date A Boy Who Travels (I’m looking at you Rebecca, Kandace, Amy…)  Here’s a quote I loved:

Date a boy who’s lived out of a backpack because he lives happily with less. A boy who’s traveled has seen poverty and dined with those who live in small shanties with no running water, and yet welcome strangers with greater hospitality than the rich. And because he’s seen this he’s seen how a life without luxury can mean a life fueled by relationships and family rather than a life that fuels fancy cars and ego.

Also, one day I am going to be really brave and do this! In Praise Of Sloppy Courage.

After I did the Google Hangout,  I saw this article that covers the Top 5 Off-Peak Destinations For Winter.  I want to go to EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

Be prepared to be lost for hours looking at gorgeous photos if you check out all these Inspiring Photo Blogs.

On networking for introverts from Yes and Yes:  Underneath that business casual attire, everybody’s just a person who checks Facebook too much and loves bad reality TV.

Coming up next week:

The fourth and final day of our Aspen To Crested Butte Hike.  Have you read the other days?  I’ve had so much fun writing them.

Wine + Cheese = Perfect Dinner Ever.

Happy Weekend Friends!  Maybe you should make some margaritas?  Or Sangria?  Whatever you do and wherever you go, I hope you LOVE with all your heart!
