Every time I go on a field trip I am reminded of the fact that teachers are saints. I mean really, I’ve spent enough time in a classroom to be amazed by the simple fact that teachers’ heads don’t explode from the noise.

So I can get excited about some appreciation for teachers.

In fact, teacher appreciation is one of my favorite things about having kids in school. I have done lots of things over the years to appreciate teachers. Some years I get really creative and spend hours putting things together and some years I just buy Starbucks gift cards. Either way, I think it’s important to somehow communicate a little love to the people who spend as much time with my kiddos as I do.

You know what would have been a great idea? To record all the different things I’ve done over the years for teacher appreciation. But of course, I haven’t. And of course I cannot recall from memory what I have done, because that would require that I have a memory. Which I don’t.

However, through pictures I have managed to discover a few of the ideas I have used for teacher appreciation. Here they are!

Tumblers!

These cute cups are everywhere! I love this idea that I got from Skip to My Lou for a tumbler plus a juice/smoothie gift card.

Cookies!

Almost any kind of cookie can be made into a teacher appreciation gift! Or even a brownie!

Beach Towel!

A reminder that it’s almost summer!

A few years ago we rolled up $5 beach towels from Walmart and tied tags onto them. If you only have a couple of teachers to appreciate, I think it would be cute to add sunscreen, a magazine and a pool float.

Candy!

There are tons of ideas floating around the internet for turning candy into a teacher gift.

I’ve done these life savers a couple of times this spring. The first time I cut the tags with pinking shears, but the second time I used a scalloped circle punch. The tag in these pictures is a free printable found here.

We also used Reeses pieces and tied on tags that said, We love you to pieces!

Also, you could use any kind of mints to say, You’re worth a mint to us!

I used little tins from Hobby Lobby or Party City that come with circle stickers.

Clipboards!

One of my favorite free printables is this teacher subway art that you can frame. I just clipped it to a clipboard last year. There are lots of fun printables and ideas at eighteen25. Here’s a link to their past teacher appreciation projects.

Also, at Christmas I did some ideas for teacher gifts that could be adjusted for spring.

What are you doing this year for the teachers in your life?
