Thank you so much for this Barb. That is one of the reasons I think it’s important to tell stories like these. Lots of times we get labeled as “The Perfect Family” and I would not ever want people to think that we never have issues/problems/massive fights.

Also, I think that everyone has to face the (American?) Christmas Machine in their own way and some years just go better than others. I am certainly finding that as I raise my own kids and try to buck the maddening flow of the season in my own life.

It is good to know everyone has ups and downs. In my younger years I had both your parent’s on a pedastool and was jealous I didn’t get to have them as parents. As I have grown both in years and hopefully maturity, I don’t have that anymore. However, it is good to know that they too are members of the human race and make mistakes!
