You’re so eloquent in sharing your thoughts. I’m the daughter of an immigrant who left his wife and two children to come to America for a better life. My father was the only one of his immediate family (that I know of) who braved the unknown. My dad was a “paper son” and so my heart are for refugees. Keep writing.
