Candied Nuts

I made these on Sunday for our holiday shopping event at church and I sold them all.

Honestly, I felt a little bad taking peoples’ money for something that is so insanely easy to make, but since all the money is going to buy flour, sugar, chocolate and lots and lots of butter for our upcoming cupcake sale, I’m going to get over it.

Still though, you should make them yourself.  They are a great gift, because they keep longer than cookies.

Also, you probably have everything you need in your kitchen right now to make them.

Happy Baking!

Candied Nuts

Ingredients:

1/3 cup brown sugar

2/3 cup sugar

1 teaspoon kosher salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 pound nuts (I used almonds, pecans and walnuts)

1 egg white, room temperature

1 tablespoon water

Mix sugars, salt and cinnamon, making sure there are no lumps; set aside.

Whisk egg white and water together. Add nuts, and stir to coat evenly.

Toss nuts with sugar mixture until evenly coated.

Spread sugared nuts in a single layer on a parchment lined cookie sheet.

Bake for 30 minutes, at 325 degrees.  Stir once or twice while cooking.

Allow to cool completely and then package them up and give them away quickly before your family eats them all!

OOOh, and PS, I found a SUPER cute downlowd for a tag to put on your homemade goodies today!
