I remember about 40 years ago staying with family in the beautiful Sonoma wine country of Northern California and going out one early summer morning with all the young uns (now in their 50s) with buckets and bowls to pick berries from the mass of wild tangled bushes at the end of the road and bringing quite a few back (we ate quite a few in the meantime) to eat for breakfast.
