In reply to Jess. They call Aberdeen the Granite City because everything is made from gray rock. I've read in several places that in the winter when the buildings and the weather are gray, it can be a bit dreary, but so far we are enjoying it! Check back with us when winter comes to see if we have a different opinion! :)

The dig I just finished is co-run by the University of Aberdeen – I’ve been very curious about the city! I’ve heard it’s rather gray, but it looks lovely.
