Welcome to the sometimes weekly (more like monthly) edition of In The Pipeline, where I list stuff I like on the internet and tell you what’s coming down the pipe at the Chino House.
So, it’s August.
You know what that means.
We are moving to Scotland this month.
Whenever I talk to anyone, they are all, Oh My Goodness, You Must Be So Busy Right Now, which makes me feel a little ridiculous about all the time I have spent lying in the floor of my empty house trying to choose between eating the rest of the ice cream out of the freezer and checking my phone for the gazillionth time to see if Househunters International has called.
Anyway, one way or another, we will be on a plane before we know it, purchasing trousers and finding out which houses the kids are in at school. Just like Harry Potter, yo.
Crombie, Don, Dunbar, Meston and Skene are the choices.
Please let them be Crombies!
A few things that happened this week:
We ate lots of cheese. Taido preached one last time. We cleared out the house. Many of our well loved treasures found new homes, like our table! I made a guest appearance on Jolly Goode Gal (Jerusalem Greer).
We had a farewell service at church that I will forever treasure in the deepest places of my heart. The event was so beautiful that I don’t know if I will ever be able to capture it in writing. A surprise bagpipe player closed the service with Amazing Grace. Dear goodness, it made us smile.

Reading great travel stories inspires me to tell my own, so I have taken yet another plunge into the unknown and bought a ticket to a travel blogging conference this fall! Meet me in Dublin?

I wish and pray you all the best as you enter a grand adventure. You are going to a wonderful land! And the Dublin conference … go and explore the country. I have never been to another country where I found the people so genuinely happy to meet you … so proud of their land and faith (south).
Add to your list Giants Causeway in Ireland and the Cliffs of Mohr, Arthur’s Seat, the cathedrals, castles museums in Scotland and of course Loch Ness.
We loved walking the famous campuses of Scotland and England, sitting on the Thames and rowing.!

The Isle of Skye is one of my favorite places on earth. There’s an ancient broch on a hillside on the main road that is so worth stopping to explore. You walk through a sheep pasture to reach it, and it’s windy and cold and fantastic.
